Important recommendations:
- Submission of a request by those concerned with the matter they are intended for: the head of the family - the divorced woman if she does not remarry - the widow who remains entrusted to him if no contrary ruling is issued
- All that is included in the family book can only be done by the civil status officer who is qualified for that, and no one else is allowed to make any amendments or notes to the family book.
- In the event of the death of the head of the family who kept the family book, or if a ruling is issued depriving him of his civil rights, the right to keep the family book reverts to the wife, unless a ruling is issued to the contrary.

- Anyone who deliberately uses documents drawn up under a family book containing incomplete or incorrect instructions shall be punished by imprisonment for one year and a fine of 240 dinars.
